Midday mortar attack on Sunni mosque in Baghdad leaves six worshippers dead.

Iraqi “Ministry of Health” not allowed to release figures on numbers of bodies found in Baghdad or other provinces by order of US-installed puppet “Prime Minister.”

In a dispatch posted at 5:25pm Makkah time Saturday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the declaration by Qasim Yahya, the official spokesman for the puppet “Iraqi Ministry of Health,” on Thursday that he would not be able to give out thedaily number of bodies taken in by Iraqi hospitals because he had been specifically ordered not to do so by the Iraqi puppet “Prime Minister” has aroused considerable concern over the American-installed regime’s desire to cover up the reality in the country.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that at a Thursday press conference, Qasim Yahya told reporters that “the prime minister’s office has prohibited us from revealing the true number of bodies that are found daily in the streets, lanes, squares, and garbage dumps of Baghdad and other provinces.”

Qasim Yahya added, “we carry out orders and don’t interfere in politics.”

Following that development, the Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent went to the puppet “Ministry of Health” in Baghdad and there he met with an official in the Statistical Department.  The official, who insisted that his name not be used, told Mafkarat al-Islam: “An order was signed by the ‘Prime Minister’ Ibrahim al-Ja‘fari and issued on 27 December 2005 instructing the Council of the Minsitry of Health not to give out any statements that reveal the true number of bodies found on a daily and regular basis.”

He said, “Since that day we have sent the number of bodies that we receive daily to the prime minister’s office and then they decide the number that they will announce through their information office.”

The official added, “Most if not all the bodies that come to us belong to Sunni youths killed by the death squads or the Shi‘i militias or the Interior Ministry Maghawir Shock Troops.”

He went on to say that the number of bodies that are reported as being found is usually about half the real figure.  “If we get 10 bodies, they report that only five were found.  If there were 20 bodies, then they report only 10.  This is in contrast to the Shi‘ah dead whose numbers are always inflated.

The official told Mafkarat al-Islam, “I feel pain inside myself when I see the reports of news and figures being issued by the government sources because most of them are falsified and have no basis in fact.  The importation of freezers for bodies from Egypt and other countries has only been with the purpose of concealing the actual numbers of bodies of Sunnis that we receive,” the official said.

About 150 Sunni Arab families have arrived in the city of Samarra’ after being driven out of their homes further south in Iraq by pro-American Shi‘i sectarian militias in a “sectarian cleansing” campaign.

A source in Samarra’ told Quds Press that the 150 families had been driven out of al-Basrah, al-Mada’in, an-Nahrawan, Baghdad al-Jadidah and other locations by pro-American Shi‘i sectarian militia and the state of sectarian terror they have unleashed.

The families arrive in Samarra’ carrying their few belongings.  Most are sleeping in open squares in the city, though a few have found refuge with relatives.  The puppet governor of the city, Muhammad Khalaf Rayhan an members of the puppet local council as well as members of the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq have given personal offerings of money and assistance to the refugee families.

Campaigns of “sectarian cleansing” aimed at driving Sunnis out of predominantly Shi‘i areas began on an expanded scale after the bombing of the Shi‘i shrine of Imam al-Hadi in Samarra’ on 22 February.

Responsibility for that mysterious bombing has never been established, though it is widely believed that the occupation forces, in particular the British, were involved as a part of their plan to spark sectarian civil war and partition Iraq.  Demonstrations against Britain took place in Tehran, in predominantly Shi‘i Iran, following the 22 February attack, as protestors denounced what they saw as London’s role in the bombing.

Quds Press reported six people killed and about 15 wounded, some of them severely, when a car bomb exploded near the Shi‘i shrine of Awlad Muslim in al-Musayyib.

A source in the puppet security sources told Quds Press that the blast occurred after noon on Saturday.  The source said that there was no truth to claims that the car had been driven by a suicide driver, but that it had been parked and abandoned.

After the blast, US and Iraqi puppet forces surrounded the area as Iraqi fire trucks rushed to the scene to try to extinguish the fire ignited by the bomb.

In contrast to Iraqi Resistance attacks, which have clear and defined targets – occupation troops or armed forces, officials, or collaborators with the US-installed puppet regime – the bomb in al-Musayyib appeared targeted exclusively on civilians.  Massive explosions similarly rocked the Shi‘i mosque of Buratha in Baghdad on Friday, and another went off by a Shi‘i shrine in an-Najaf on Thursday.  Meanwhile the American-installed security forces have been capturing, torturing, and killing Sunni residents of Baghdad and other Iraqi cities.

Such attacks are widely viewed as a part of an Anglo-American effort to rescue their failing fortunes in Iraq by sparking a sectarian civil war in the country enabling them to fulfill their plans of partitioning the country along ethnic and religious lines.  That was the assessment given to recent attacks by Shi‘i religious leader Muqtada as-Sadr and by the supreme Sunni religious authority in Iraq, the Association of Muslim Scholars.
