Resistance bomb kills US soldier near Hit in western Iraq Wednesday afternoon.

 

In a dispatch posted at 9:01am Makkah time Thursday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US patrol east of the city of Hit, in the al-Muhammadi area about 160km northwest of Baghdad, at 6pm local time Wednesday afternoon.

 

Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the puppet police as saying that the bomb went off by a patrol of six US Humvees on the main road.  The blast destroyed one of the Humvees and killed one American soldier who was aboard it.

 

An officer in the puppet police in Hit said that the Americans lay the body of the dead soldier out in the road for about half an hour before the rest of the men in the patrol evacuated it from the area.

 

The Americans responded to the attack by launching a search of the area looking for the Resistance men who had planted the bomb.  The US troops arrested 13 local individuals, but released seven of those less than an hour later.  The Americans took the other six captives off with them to their nearby base.

Sectarian murder spree continues: 12 more bodies found dumped around Baghdad Thursday.

 

In a dispatch posted at 9:57pm Baghdad time Thursday night, the Aswat al-‘Iraq news agency, which was set up by Reuters and the U.N. Development Agency, reported that the Iraqi puppet police recovered the bodies of 12 more victims of sectarian murder during the previous 24 hours.

 

Aswat al-‘Iraq reported a source in the puppet “Iraqi Interior Ministry,” who asked to remain anonymous, as saying that the bodies were found dumped in various parts of Baghdad and that all had been shot to death.

 

US admits another of its soldiers killed in Iraq Wednesday.

 

In a dispatch posted at 9:21am Baghdad time Thursday morning, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that the US military in Baghdad admitted that one more of its soldiers had been killed in what it described as a “non-combat incident” on Wednesday, 5 September.

 

The AMSI reported that in keeping with the standard American practice of concealing the facts regarding its casualties in Iraq, no further details were made available.

 

US strikes on western Baghdad district leave 14 civilians dead early Thursday.

 

In a dispatch posted at 10:42am Baghdad time Thursday morning, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that a US carried out an air and artillery attack  the al-Washshash area to the west of Baghdad early Thursday after a US patrol was ambushed there.

 

The AMSI reported a source in the puppet police as saying that an attack was mounted on the American patrol at dawn and the Americans responded with an air and artillery attack on the district.

 

The American assault killed 14 Iraqi civilians and wounded nine more, including womdn and children.  Several homes in the area were also damaged.

 

Mysterious bomb kills civilian in southern Baghdad.

 

In a dispatch posted at 10:42am Baghdad time Thursday morning, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that a bomb exploded in the southern Baghdad district of az-Za‘faraniyah.

 

The AMSI reported a source in the puppet police as saying that a bomb that had been planted on the main road in az-Za‘faraniyah went off, killing one civilian and wounding three more.

Tikrit.

 

Car bomb targeted on puppet police allegedly kills three civilians in Tikrit.

 

In a dispatch posted at 1:43pm Baghdad time Thursday afternoon, the Aswat al-‘Iraq news agency, which was set up by Reuters and the U.N. Development Agency, reported that a car bomb exploded by a puppet police patrol near a fuel station in central Tikrit, about 180km north of Baghdad.

 

Aswat al-‘Iraq reported a source in the puppet police as saying that the car bomb had been parked on the main street in Tikrit before noon on Thursday when it want off by a passing puppet police patrol.

 

The source claimed that the blast injured none of the puppet policemen but did kill three civilians and wounded 17 more of them.  All the casualties were civilians who were waiting to fill up their cars at the fuel station at the time, the puppet police source claimed.  The source added that the casualty count was preliminary and that the number of dead might rise later on.  He noted that a curfew had been imposed inside the city after the attack.

 

At-Tarimiyah.

 

US forces raid area around at-Tarimiyah killing six civilians and mutilating their bodies.

 

In a dispatch posted at 10:55am Baghdad time Thursday morning, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that US troops carried out an airborne landing in the village of ash-Shabab in the al-‘Abayiji area of at-Tarimiyah, about 30km north of Baghdad on Wednesday.

 

The AMSI reported eyewitnesses as saying that the Americans killed five villagers in the raid and then mutilated their bodies.

 

The witnesses added that the Americans then killed another youth in at-Tarimiyah and cut off his limbs.  It appeared that those Americans were implementing some kind of policy that involved systematic mutilation of their victims.

 

US forces have been carrying out numerous attacks on villagers to the north of Baghdad.  They have also recently abducted a woman from at-Tarimiyah after imprisoning another woman from ad-Dulu‘iyah, about 90km north of Baghdad.

Ad-Diwaniyah.

 

US “Camp Echo” struck by Katyusha rockets Thursday night.

 

In a dispatch posted at 11:19pm Baghdad time Thursday night, the Aswat al-‘Iraq news agency, which was set up by Reuters and the U.N. Development Agency, reported that the US occupation forces’ “Camp Echo” near ad-Diwaniyah, about 180km south of Baghdad, came under rocket attack on Thursday evening.

 

Aswat al-‘Iraq reported a source in the ad-Diwaniyah puppet police, who asked not to be identified, said that five Katyusha rockets blasted into “Camp Echo” on Thursday evening.  The source offered no information on who fired the rockets, and said he had no information on the nature or extent of damage inside the closely guarded American camp.

 

Immediately after the attack a US helicopter flew in and prowled the skies over the city.  The US-occupied “Camp Echo” is located about 2km from ad-Diwaniyah.
