Baghdad.

 

Bomb explodes in Baghdad’s al-‘Amiriyah district Thursday night.

 

In a dispatch posted at 8:38pm Baghdad time Thursday night, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that a bomb had exploded in the al-‘Amiriyah area of western Baghdad at 8pm local time Thursday night.

 

The AMSI reported that the attack took place on al-Mudayifah Street near the Muluki Mosque in al-‘Amiriyah.  As of that hour no information on the nature or extent of damage and casualties was available.

 

Forty-six reported dead after two bombs rip through downtown Baghdad Thursday evening.

 

In a dispatch posted at 8pm Baghdad time Thursday night, the Yaqen News Agency reported that two bombs exploded one after the other in Baghdad’s al-Karradah district.  A Yaqen dispatch posted at 10:10pm said that as of that hour, the casualty tool in the blasts stood at 46 dead and dozens injured.

 

Yaqen reported Qasim ‘Ata, spokesman for the Iraqi regime’s Plan for the Imposition of Law and Order, as saying that the blasts occurred on al-‘Attar Street in al-Karradah Thursday evening.  He said that in addition to the casualties, the explosions also inflicted material damage to several stores in the area.  Ambulances could be seen rushing to the scene.

 

Bomb targets US patrol in al-A‘zamiyah Thursday morning; one civilian killed.

 

In a dispatch posted on its Arabic website at 3:29pm Thursday afternoon Beijing time (10:29am Baghdad time), the Xinhua News Agency reported that a bomb exploded by a US patrol near the at-Tai‘ah playing field in the northern Baghdad district of al-A‘zamiyah on Thursday morning.

 

Xinhua reported a source in the Iraqi regime police as saying that the blast killed one civilian and wounded five more people.  He said that although the bomb targeted the American patrol, the blast missed its mark and went off by a minibus carrying Iraqi passengers in the same area.   The bus was severely damaged in the explosion, after which the injured people were taken to hospital for treatment.  The power of the blast also shattered window and storefront glass in the area.

 

Bombs explode by two US patrols in Baghdad Wednesday.

 

In a dispatch posted on its Arabic website at 8:45am Thursday morning Beijing time (5:45am Baghdad time), the Xinhua News Agency reported that a bomb exploded by a US patrol in the southeastern Baghdad district of az-Za‘faraniyah on Wednesday.

 

Xinhua reported that a second bomb went off by another US patrol in the al-Mikanik neighborhood of the southern Baghdad suburb of ad-Durah also on Wednesday.  In both cases the Americans closed off the area where the attacks took place, allowing no information on the nature or extent of casualties to leak out.  As of the time of reporting, the US had made no statement on the attacks.

Khanaqin.

 

Bomb kills officer in Iraqi regime police near Khanaqin.

 

In a dispatch posted at 6:55pm Baghdad time Thursday evening, the Yaqen News Agency reported that a bomb exploded by a patrol of Iraqi regime police on the main road to Sadd Hamrin in the Khanaqin area, 180km northeast of Baghdad.

 

Yaqen reported a source in the regime police as saying that the blast killed a first lieutenant in the Iraqi government police and wounded four policemen

 

Babil Province.

Al-Iskandariyah.

 

Bomb targeting police patrol wounds two women in al-Iskandariyah.

 

In a dispatch posted at 6:25pm Baghdad time Thursday evening, the Yaqen News Agency reported that a bomb exploded by a patrol of Iraqi regime police in the al-Iskandariyah area, 40km south of Baghdad.

 

Yaqen reported a source in the Babil Province police as saying that the bomb wounded two women who were taken to hospital for treatment.

 

At-Ta’mim Province.

Kirkuk.

 

Two Iraqi regime army troops wounded in bombing in Kirkuk midday Thursday.

 

In a dispatch posted at 2:35pm Baghdad time Thursday afternoon, the Yaqen News Agency reported that a bomb exploded in the ar-Rashad area of Kirkuk at midday on Thursday.

 

Yaqen reported an official in the Iraqi regime army as saying that the blast wounded two troops of the Second Brigade of the Fourth Division.  Both men were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

 

Ninwa Province.

Al-Mawsil.

 

Car bomb explodes by US patrol in al-Mawsil.

 

In a dispatch posted at 8:33pm Baghdad time Thursday night, the Yaqen News Agency reported that a car bomb exploded by a patrol of US troops in the an-Nur neighborhood of al-Mawsil Thursday.

 

Yaqen reported a source in the local American-appointed regime as saying that the blast wounded four people who happened to be in the area at the time.  As of the time of reporting, the Americans had made no report on the attack.

 

Bomb kills prison guard in al-Mawsil.

 

In a dispatch posted at 8:33pm Baghdad time Thursday night, the Yaqen News Agency reported that one guard at Badush Prison was killed and two more of them wounded when a bomb exploded by their car in the city of al-Mawsil, 420km northwest of Baghdad.

 

Yaqen reported a source in the al-Mawsil regime police as saying that the bomb went off by a car carrying a number of guards who work at Badush Prison as they were driving in a car on official business.

 

Maysan Province.

Al-‘Amarah.

 

Two Iraqi regime army troops gunned down in al-‘Amarah Thursday.

 

In a dispatch posted at 3pm Baghdad time Thursday afternoon, the Yaqen News Agency reported that armed men ambushed and killed two soldiers in the Iraqi regime army in the city of al-‘Amarah, 290km southeast of Baghdad on Thursday.

 

Yaqen reported a source in the provincial government as saying that unknown armed men in a civilian car opened fire on the car in which two soldiers were riding through the al-‘Urubah area in eastern al-‘Amarah, killing them on the spot.
