US-installed Iraqi president meets Zionist foreign minister, stress close ties between “Israel” and Kurdish separatist enclave.
In a dispatch posted at 3:41pm Baghdad time Tuesday afternoon, the Yaqen News Agency reported that US-installed Iraqi President Jalal Talibani met the Zionist state’s foreign minister Ehud Barak during an international congress of reformist Socialist Parties in Greece. It was the first reported meeting between Talibani and a high-ranking “Israeli” official.
Yaqen reported Talibani as saying that he held discussions with Barak regarding bilateral relations and the participation of “Israeli” companies in the rebuilding of the Kurdish separatist enclave set up by the United States in northern Iraq.
Talibani added that he had asked Barak to convey his greetings to the “Israeli” president, Shimon Peres, whom he described as a friend. Talibani described Kurdish-Zionist relations as deeply rooted and not new, saying that they are unique relations that go back many years into the past.
Jalal Talibani, the chief of the Kurdish separatist Patriotic Union of Kurdistan party (PUK), was installed as Iraqi president under the US occupation regime in April of 2005.
Car bomb wounds five civilians in western Baghdad Tuesday morning.
In a dispatch posted on its Arabic website at 6:01pm Tuesday afternoon Beijing time (1:01pm in Baghdad), the Xinhua News Agency reported that a car bomb exploded on the service road in at the Salah ad-Din intersection in western Baghdad before noon Tuesday.
Xinhua reported a source in the police as saying that the blast wounded five civilians when it exploded without any military target in the area. Buildings were damaged in the explosion, after which, all the victims were taken to hospital.
US troops reportedly execute two west-Baghdad youths in front of their family.
In a dispatch posted at 11:31am Baghdad time Tuesday morning, the Yaqen News Agency reported that US troops had reportedly executed two youths in front of their families during raids on a house in the al-‘Adl neighborhood of western Baghdad.
Yaqen reported witnesses as saying that troops belonging to a unit called the “Dirty Division” raided the home where the youths ‘Uthman ‘Abd al-Wahid al-Qadiri and his cousin Harith Zuhayr lived late on the afternoon of Saturday, 28 June.
The witnesses claimed that after destroying furniture and striking family members including women and children, the Americans blindfolded the two youths, stood them up, and shot them in front of their family.
The witnesses reported that the US troops then took the bodies of the youths to the al-‘Adl neighborhood police station and handed them over. The Americans also arrested Husayn, the older brother of ‘Uthman ‘Abd al-Wahid al-Qadiri, who had come back to Iraq a few days earlier from Germany where he resides.
The witnesses said that all the men in the house were arrested, including the husband of ‘Uthman al-Qadiri’s sister. The witnesses said that ‘Uthman al-Qadiri had been arrested by the Americans in 2004 and was held in Camp Bucca prison until his release 10 days ago. He was a university student in the Ibn al-Haytham College of Education. The witnesses said that the US troops were also looking for his brother, Ahmad.

Bomb north of Tikrit kills five Peshmergah Kurdish separatist gunmen.
In a dispatch posted at 1:42pm Baghdad time Tuesday afternoon, the Yaqen News Agency reported that a bomb exploded by Kurdish separatist Peshmergah policemen on the road between Tikrit (180km north of Baghdad) and Kirkuk (250km north of Baghdad) at 11am local time Tuesday morning.
Yaqen reported Colonel Mu’ayyad Salih of the Iraqi government army as saying that the blast killed five of the American-supported Kurdish separatist soldiers and wounded two more of them. He said that the homemade explosive device went off near the city of Tikrit as the Peshmergah men were guarding an unnamed Kurdish official.
Sulayman Bak.
Bomb kills employee at government administrative building in Sulayman Bak Tuesday morning.
In a dispatch posted on its Arabic website at 3:21pm Tuesday afternoon Beijing time (10:21am in Baghdad), the Xinhua News Agency reported that a bomb had exploded inside a government building in Sulayman Bak, 190km north of Baghdad at 8:10am local time Tuesday morning.
Xinhua reported a source in the provincial police as saying that the bomb went off as an employee opened the inner door to the government administrative building for Sulayman Bak. One employee was killed on the spot.
The source said that the blast also destroyed the building and damaged several nearby structures in addition to destroying numerous cars parked outside. The source said that the bomb had been placed at the interior door entrance in order to kill the largest possible number of civilians, but the employee had come in early by himself and the bomb went off when he opened the door.
Earlier, in a dispatch posted at 11:05am Baghdad time Tuesday morning, the Yaqen News Agency reported that a bomb had exploded in the car belonging to the government administrator for the Sulayman Bak area, 190km north of Baghdad.
Yaqen reported the Administrator, Talib Muhammad, as saying that the bomb, which had been planted inside the car, exploded near the local police station, killing one of his bodyguards.
Administrator Muhammad said that the person who planted the bomb had intended for it to explode amidst the crowds in front of the administrative building so as to inflict a large number of dead and wounded among the civilian population, but the bomb went off before the morning rush, and therefore the only death was that of one of the guards.

Six Iraqis die in four bomb attacks in villages south of Ba‘qubah Tuesday.
In a dispatch posted on its Arabic website at 6:31pm Tuesday afternoon Beijing time (2:31pm in Baghdad), the Xinhua News Agency reported that a series of bombings and had taken the lives of six people in the Ba‘qubah area, 65km northeast of Baghdad, on Tuesday.
Xinhua reported a source in the Diyala Province police as saying that the first bomb went off by a force of tribal “Awakening” policemen in the village of al-‘Ibarah, 5km south of Ba‘qubah. The explosion killed one of the “Awakening” policemen.
When the body of the stricken tribesman was taken to his home, a second bomb went off in front of that building, killing a civilian. Then during the funeral procession for both men, a third bomb exploded, killing a third person and wounding six more people.
Meanwhile, in the village of Abu Fayyad, also about 5km south of Ba‘qubah, another bomb exploded by a car carrying three brothers. The blast totally destroyed the vehicle and killed all three brothers.
Mandali.
Car bomber kills two policemen in Mandali attack Monday evening.
In a dispatch posted at 10:09am Baghdad time Tuesday morning, the Yaqen News Agency reported that a car bomber blew himself up near a police station in the south of Mandali, a town located near the Iranian border, 100km northeast of Baghdad Monday evening.
Yaqen reported a source in the local police as saying that the car bomber attacked the al-Jisr (“Bridge”) police station to the south of Mandali, killing two policemen and wounding 10 other policemen and nine civilians. The attacker drove the car at high speed towards a checkpoint 20 meters from the police station, prompting the policemen to open fire intensively on the car, which swerved to the right off the road and blew up.
In addition to killing or wounding 20 people, the explosion damaged a number of booths where sweets and soft drinks are sold in the area.

Katyusha rockets target police headquarters in Kirkuk Tuesday afternoon.
In a dispatch posted at 5:20pm Baghdad time Tuesday afternoon, the Yaqen News Agency reported that several Katyusha rockets blasted into the police administration building in Kirkuk, 250km north of Baghdad on Tuesday afternoon.
Yaqen reported a source in the provincial police as saying that “a number” of Katyusha rockets were fired at the police headquarters in the Musalla headquarters of the Azadi police. The attack caused no casualties, the source maintained. The police station building, however, was damaged by the rockets, which were launched from a n adjacent street. The source said it was the second such attack on the facility in 72 hours.

Bomb kills Iraqi government policeman west of al-Mawsil Tuesday evening.
In a dispatch posted at 9:35pm Baghdad time Tuesday night, the Yaqen News Agency reported that a bomb exploded by a patrol of Iraqi government police over the tunnel at the Fifth Bridge to the west of al-Mawsil, 420km northwest of Baghdad on Tuesday evening.
Yaqen reported a source in the provincial police as saying that one policeman was killed and seven others wounded when the bomb, that had been planted by a steel barrier to the bridge, blew up. The source said that the wounded were transported to the al-Jumhuri Hospital in al-Mawsil for treatment.
Since 10 May, the US and its Iraqi regime allies have been waging an offensive against the al-Qa‘idah organization in al-Mawsil and the surrounding area of Ninwa Province.
Al-Qayyarah.
Truck bomb wounds tribal chief southeast of al-Mawsil Tuesday.
In a dispatch posted at 6:05pm Baghdad time Tuesday afternoon, the Yaqen News Agency reported that an explosives-laden truck blew up by the home of the chief of the al-Jabbur tribe in the al-Qayyarah area, 360km northwest of Baghdad.
Yaqen reported a source in the provincial police as saying that a preliminary count indicated that at least 18 people were wounded in the explosion that targeted the home of Shaykh ‘Abd ar-Razzaq Mujbil al-Wakka‘, chief of the Jabbur tribe, in al-Hud village in Ninwa Province.
Shaykh al-Wakka‘ and his wife were among those injured in the explosion, which the source described as “very big,” adding that he expected the casualty toll to increase as more victims come to light during rescue and recovery efforts.
Since 10 May, the US and its Iraqi regime allies have been waging an offensive against the al-Qa‘idah organization in al-Mawsil and surrounding Ninwa Province.

In continued preparations for American attack on Iran, Iraqi regime police arrest eight anti-occupation Jaysh al-Mahdi militiamen in raids, searches in al-Basrah.
In a dispatch posted on its Arabic website at 4:25pm Tuesday afternoon Beijing time (11:25am in Baghdad), the Xinhua News Agency reported that the Iraqi government police had carried out raids in various parts of al-Basrah in southern Iraq on Tuesday and arrested eight more members of the anti-occupation Jaysh al-Mahdi militia.
Xinhua reported a source in the provincial police command who asked not to be identified as saying that the police had also disarmed two bombs on a street in the city.
Since March, the US-backed Iraqi regime has been actively engaged in an offensive against the anti-occupation Sadr Movement and its armed wing, the Jaysh al-Mahdi militia, in Iraq, in what is believed to be preparation for an American attack on Iran.
