نقلت شبكة واي نت يوم الأحد خبرا مفاده أن مصادر عراقية موثوق بها تعيش في الأردن قالت أن الرئيس العراقي جلال الطالباني إجتمع مؤخراً "بشخص عسكري إسرائيلي" الذي سلم الرئيس رسالة من رئيس الوزراء الإسرائيلي أريل شارون.

وأضاف المصدر، بدون تزويد تفاصيل عن مكان حدوث الإجتماع، أن الطالباني رد برسالة معنونة الى شارون والتي أكد فيها أن تطورات إيجابية في العلاقات الإسرائيلية-العراقية ستكون متوقعة خلال الأشهر الثلاث المقبلة، بضمنها تبادل الممثلين الدبلوماسيين بين البلدين.

May 15, 2005 - Reliable Iraqi sources in Jordan said Iraqi President Jalal Talabani has recently met with "an Israeli military figure" who presented the president with a letter from Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, ynet reported Sunday.

The sources further added, without providing details on where the meeting took place, that Talabani responded with a letter addressed to Sharon in which he emphasized positive developments in Israeli-Iraqi relations are expected within the next three months, including the exchange of diplomatic representatives between the countries.
