Mysterious bomb kills boy in ar-Rutbah Saturday morning.

 

In a dispatch posted Saturday morning, the Yaqen News Agency reported that a mysterious bomb exploded in the al-Intisar neighborhood of ar-Rutbah, in far western Iraq, near the Jordanian border, on Saturday morning.

 

Yaqen reported eyewitnesses as saying that the blast killed one boy and wounded another.  The witnesses said the bomb was not targeted on any military patrol by either the US or puppet forces and took place apparently randomly.  The victims were taken to hospital for treatment.

 

Baghdad.

 

Vehicle carrying members of the Public Investigations Bureau of the puppet “Iraqi Interior Ministry” ambushed in Baghdad Saturday evening.

 

In a dispatch posted at 7:26pm Baghdad time Saturday night, the Yaqen News Agency reported that armed fighters ambushed an Opel car carrying members of the Public Investigations Bureau of the puppet “Iraqi Interior Ministry” down as-Sa‘dun Street near the Baghdad Hotel on Saturday evening.

 

Yaqen reported a source in the puppet police as saying that one of the puppet “Investigators” was killed in the attack and a second wounded.  The injured man was taken to a hospital for treatment.

 

Resistance bomb kills puppet policeman in southern Baghdad Saturday afternoon.

 

In a dispatch posted at 7:05pm Baghdad time Saturday night, the Yaqen News Agency reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a puppet police patrol in the southern Baghdad suburb of ad-Durah Saturday afternoon.

 

Yaqen reported a source in the puppet police as saying that one puppet policeman was killed and five more of them wounded in the attack, which also damaged a patrol vehicle.  The wounded puppet policemen were taken to a hospital for treatment.

In a dispatch posted at 5:30pm Baghdad time Saturday evening, the Yaqen News Agency reported that the Iraqi puppet police had announced that its units had recovered the bodies of three more victims of sectarian murder that had been dumped around Baghdad in the previous 24 hours.

 

Yaqen reported a source in the puppet police a saying that two of the bodies were found in ad-Durah and al-‘Amil in the al-Karakh section of Baghdad and the third in the ash-Sha‘b neighborhood of eastern Baghdad.

 

Explosion kills notorious Shi‘i sectarian militia leader before dawn Sunday.

 

In a dispatch posted at 2pm Baghdad time Saturday afternoon, the Yaqen News Agency reported that an explosion ripped through the home of ‘Uday Hamid, a leader in the Shi‘i sectarian Jaysh al-Mahdi militia in the an-Nu‘maniyah section of Baghdad on Friday-Saturday night.

 

Yaqen reported a source in the puppet police as saying that the blast destroyed the house and killed Hamid, his wife and his two children as they slept.  The source said that it was likely that the notorious leader of the sectarian militia had been killed by a bomb blast, but declined to provide any further details or to speculate as to who might have planted the explosive.

 

Resistance bomb rips through US patrol in Baghdad.

 

In a dispatch posted at 1:49pm Baghdad time Saturday afternoon, the Yaqen News Agency reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US patrol in the al-Bunuk section of Baghdad.

 

Yaqen reported a source in the puppet police as saying that American troops quickly closed off the area to prevent any information on the nature or extent of US casualties from being reported.

 

In a dispatch posted at 9pm Saturday night, Yaqen reported a source in the puppet police as saying that the bomb damaged a US military vehicle but said that he had no information on the nature or extent of US casualties and that the US side had still made no announcement regarding the attack at that hour.

 

Resistance bomb targets puppet “Shock Troops” in Baghdad.

 

In a dispatch posted at 1:49pm Baghdad time Saturday afternoon, the Yaqen News Agency reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a patrol of the puppet “Iraqi Interior Ministry Shock Troops (Maghawir)” in the Baghdad district of al-Harithiyah.

 

Yaqen reported a source in the puppet police as saying that the blast wounded two puppet “Shock Troops” and inflicted material damage on a patrol vehicle.

 

Salah ad-Din Province.

Bayji.

 

Car bomb explodes near puppet police station in Bayji Saturday morning, killing eight.

 

In a dispatch Saturday, the Yaqen News Agency reported that a car bomb exploded by a puppet police station in northern Bayji, 200km north of Baghdad, at 7:15am local time on Saturday morning.

 

Yaqen reported a source in the Bayji puppet police as saying that a car bomb went off by the 600 Dar puppet police station.  The blast inflicted material damage to several nearby residences.

 

In a dispatch posted at 2pm Baghdad time Saturday afternoon, the Yaqen News Agency reported that more than 50 people had been killed or wounded in the blast.  At least eight were known dead and about 40 wounded.  A source in the puppet police said at that time that the car bomb went off by the home of Colonel ‘Ali Shakir, an official with the puppet regime “anti-terror” forces in the city.  The source said that at least 11 cars were destroyed and 15 homes damaged in the blast.

 

Diyala Province.

Al-Miqdadiyah.

 

US aircraft attacks house claimed to be used by al-Qa‘idah in al-Miqdadiyah Saturday.

 

In a dispatch posted at 6:55pm Baghdad time Saturday night, the Yaqen News Agency reported that a US Air Force aircraft blasted a house in the al-Jazirah area to the north of al-Miqdadiyah, 85km northeast of Baghdad, on Saturday.

 

Yaqen reported Captain ‘Amir as-Sa‘di of the al-Miqdadiyah puppet police as claiming that the American air strike killed seven members of the al-Qa‘idah organization, among them two important commanders in the group by the name of ‘Imad Mari and Husayn ‘Ali.

 

Ba‘qubah.

 

Puppet forces mount offensive against “armed men” in northern Ba‘qubah Saturday.

 

In a dispatch posted at 6:40pm Baghdad time Saturday night, the Yaqen News Agency reported that forces of the puppet police and the “Diyala Awakening popular committees” collaborationist tribal police launched a military offensive against armed men in the Zaghaniyah and as-Sadah areas of northern Ba‘qubah, 65km northeast of Baghdad, on Saturday.

 

Yaqen reported Lieutenant Nuri ‘Abbas of the local puppet police as claiming that the American-backed puppet forces killed two armed men and arrested three more.  Lieutenant ‘Abbas also said that the force disarmed three bombs and an explosive belt in addition to finding chemical materials and a “large quantity” of C4 explosives as well as some small arms and ammunition.

 

Eyewitnesses told Yaqen that the puppet regime forces, including dozens of military vehicles attacked positions of armed men in northern Ba‘qubah on Saturday, sparking violent firefights between the two sides.  Because the attacking puppet regime forces sealed off the area, no information on the nature or extent of casualties was available.

Al-Ba‘aj.

 

Collaborators battle suspected al-Qa‘idah fighters in northwestern Iraq.

 

In a dispatch posted at 1:13pm Baghdad time Saturday afternoon, the Yaqen News Agency reported that collaborationist tribal contingents of the “Ninwa Awakening” clashed with armed fighters near the old Iraqi military base near al-Ba‘aj, about 140km southwest of al-Mawsil in northern Iraq, during Friday-Saturday night.

 

Yaqen reported Major Yunus ‘Abd Rabbuh of the puppet forces as saying that the collaborationist tribal fighters of “Ninwa Awakening” attacked the armed men, killing and wounding “a number” of them.  After the battler the fighters, believed to belong to al-Qa‘idah’s front organization the “Islamic State of Iraq,” withdrew  with their weapons to remote regions where the pro-American tribal collaborators could not follow them.

 

Major ‘Abd Rabbuh said local people had tipped them off regarding the presence of al-Qa‘idah men at the old airdrome and for that reason the tribal collaborator contingents advanced on the position.

 

The source said that the armed men had used the old facility for a long time and that the battle during the night raged for more than five continuous hours.  Light, medium, and heavy weapons were used in the fight and the al-Qa‘idah men were reported to be in possession of advanced weapons as compared to those used by the puppet tribal contingents.

 

Al-Mawsil.

 

Trench to be dug to cut al-Mawsil off from rest of Iraq, tightening control over city.

 

In a dispatch posted at 7:45pm Baghdad time Saturday night, the Yaqen News Agency reported that Hisham al-Hamdani, the Chairman of the puppet “Ninwa Provincial Council” as announcing that a trench would be dug around the entire circumference of the city of al-Mawsil, 420km northwest of Baghdad next year in an effort to reduce attacks by the Iraqi Resistance on US occupation troops and their puppet regime allies.

 

Yaqen reported al-Hamdani as saying that the decision to dig the trench had been taken unanimously at the last meeting of the “Ninwa provincial council,” and that the funds for the project would be included in the planned regional “development” budget for 2008.

 

According to the plan once the trench has been dug, all entry and exit to the city would have to take place through checkpoints supervised by US or puppet regime forces.

 

Tribal collaborator chief killed in ambush.

 

In a dispatch Saturday, the Yaqen News Agency reported that armed men ambushed the motorcade in which a tribal leader prominent in the collaborationist organization “Ninwa Awakening” was riding between al-Mawsil, 420km northwest of Baghdad and Rabi‘ah near the Syrian border.

 

Yaqen reported the puppet police as declaring that the attack left six men dead, including Shaykh Jabbar Khalaf al-Jarba, the head of a tribe of the Shamar and a prominent personality among the “Ninwa Awakening” tribal collaborators.
