The Resistance men carried out their attack with speed and efficiency and then quickly withdrew from the scene immediately after completing their mission.  So, the witnesses said, when the Americans and their Iraqi puppet allies sent out a force to investigate whether they had hit any of the Resistance fighters with their return fire, it was obvious that the US troops were angry and frustrated at having hit nothing with their ordnance and they went around the area shooting off their rifles aimlessly.
