·        Sectarian torture, murder spree continues: two bodies recovered from as-Sayyidiyah area of Baghdad Friday.

Collaborator tribesmen clash with al-Qa‘idah gunmen in al-Anbar Friday morning.

 

In a dispatch posted at 1:40pm Baghdad time Friday afternoon, the Yaqen News Agency reported that fierce fighting raged between armed men belonging to al-Qa‘idah and American-backed tribal “al-Anbar Awakening” gunmen near ath-Tharthar Lake in northern al-Anbar Province on Friday morning.

 

Yaqen reported local eyewitnesses as saying that the al-Qa‘idah gunmen clashed with the attacking pro-American gunmen for more than an hour.  No information on the results of the fighting was available as of the time of reporting.

Sectarian torture, murder spree continues: two bodies recovered from as-Sayyidiyah area of Baghdad Friday.

 

In a dispatch posted at 6:40pm Baghdad time Friday evening, the Yaqen News Agency reported that the Iraqi puppet police had recovered the bodies of two more victims of sectarian torture and murder that had been dumped in the Baghdad district of as-Sayyidiyah on Friday.

 

Yaqen reported a source in the puppet police as saying that the bodies had been bound and blindfolded and showed signs of torture.  They were both shot to death.

 

Bomb targets puppet police, shock troops in Baghdad Friday morning.

 

In a dispatch posted at 1:05pm Baghdad time Friday afternoon, the Yaqen News Agency reported that a bomb exploded by a joint patrol of puppet police and puppet “Iraqi Interior Ministry Shock Troops (Maghawir)” at the eastern entrance to the Madinat as-Sadr section of Baghdad on Friday morning.

 

Yaqen reported a source in the puppet police as saying that the explosion took place on Muzaffar Square and wounded one puppet policeman and one “Shock Troop” soldier in addition to damaging one of the patrol vehicles.  The wounded were taken to the nearest hospital for treatment.

Collaborator police kill two “suspects” in Samarra’.

 

In a dispatch posted on its Arabic website at 8:49pm Friday night Beijing time (3:49pm Friday afternoon, Baghdad time), the Xinhua News Agency reported that sources in the puppet police had announced that two armed men, believed to belong to the al-Qa ‘idah organization, were killed in a clash with puppet police forces in Samarra’ 120km north of Baghdad.

 

Xinhua reported a source in the puppet forces as saying that two men in a car “aroused the suspicions” of tribal collaborationist “Awakening” police manning a check point in the al-Jubayriyah neighborhood of eastern Samarra’.  The pro-American tribal collaborators pursued the “suspicious” car and a gun battle erupted in which the two men in the car were killed.  The police claimed that they found weapons and explosives in the vehicle after the engagement and that the two men were believed to have been members of al-Qa‘idah.

 

Meanwhile the puppet police for Salah ad-Din Province announced that the death toll in a battle near ad-Dulu‘iyah Thursday has now risen to five gunmen dead.

 

The source claimed that a gun battle took place between US forces accompanied by collaborator “Awakening” police, on one side, and gunmen belonging to al-Qa‘idah on the other side in the village of al-Mashru‘ east of ad-Dulu‘iyah (which is 97km north of Baghdad) on Thursday.  Initial reports had indicated that the battle left three of the gunmen dead, one of them a commander, and that two other al-Qa‘idah gunmen had been captured in addition to four gunmen who were wounded.  On Friday the puppet police announced that two of the captive gunmen had died, bringing the total number of deaths as a result of the clash on Thursday to five.

Ba‘qubah.

 

Puppet forces carry out mass raids, arrests near Ba‘qubah.

 

In a dispatch posted at 11:05pm Baghdad time Friday night, the Yaqen News Agency reported that puppet regime troops backed up by collaborator tribal “Awakening” police carried out mass raids and arrests in the as-Salam area to the east of Ba‘qubah on Friday afternoon.

 

Yaqen reported Lieutenant ‘Imad al-‘Azzawi of the Diyala Province puppet police as claiming that the raids were searches for members of al-Qa‘idah

 

Office of Muqtada as-Sadr movement comes under mortar attack near Ba‘qubah.

 

In a dispatch posted at 10:50pm Baghdad time Friday night, the Yaqen News Agency reported that an office of pro-Iranian Shi‘i sectarian cleric Muqtada as-Sadr in the khan Bani Sa‘d area, 40km northeast of Baghdad, came under mortar barrage at noon on Friday.

 

Yaqen reported a source in the puppet regime as saying that several mortar shells blasted into the area around the Sadr office near the as-Sadiq Shi‘i mosque in the southern part of the al-Qadisiyah neighborhood.  The attack inflicted material damaged to the building but no casualties.

 

Bomb kills collaborator “Awakening” policeman near Ba‘qubah.

 

In a dispatch posted at 1:25pm Baghdad time Friday afternoon, the Yaqen News Agency reported that a bomb exploded by a troop of collaborationist “Awakening” police on the main road to the Abu Sayda area east of Ba‘qubah, 65km northeast of Baghdad.

 

Yaqen reported a source in the Diyala Province puppet police who asked not to be identified as saying that the bomb went off as an unmarked car carrying a group of “Awakening” collaborator police drove past.  The explosion killed one of the collaborators and wounded a second.  The wounded man and the corpse of the dead collaborator were taken to Ba‘qubah General Hospital.

Puppet policeman shot in his home in al-Basrah.

 

In a dispatch posted at 3:20pm Baghdad time Friday afternoon, the Yaqen News Agency reported that a group of armed men shot and killed a puppet policeman in his home in the al-Jubaylah district of al-Basrah in southern Iraq.

 

Yaqen reported a source in the puppet police as saying also that the puppet police discovered the bound and blindfolded body of a murdered man in the as-Saraji district of al-Basrah and the body of another man in his shop in the az-Zubayr area to the west of the city.
